Nationwide Building Society has announced a major boost for First Time Buyers, now allowing eligible applicants to borrow up to 6 times their joint income, subject to criteria. This generous lending cap is available for purchases up to 95% loan-to-value (LTV) on new build homes and 85% LTV on new build apartments.
How are first time buyers being supported?
- The minimum household income requirement has also been lowered to £35,000, opening doors for many more buyers to take advantage of this opportunity.
- Buyers can now use a gifted deposit from a family member or friend – giving your loved ones a chance to support you in a meaningful way without the need for co-signing or complications of a joint application.
- Nationwide is extending its mortgage offer validity from six months to nine months, offering greater peace of mind and flexibility during the new build process. This means fewer reapplications and less stress during what should be an exciting time.
