Curchods In The Community: A Career Workshop with Andrew Dewar

Events

Finding a job in 2026 is more challenging than ever before. According to the Office for National Statistics, an estimated 61.6% of young people who are not in employment, education or training, have never had any paid work.  As a long-standing Surrey business owner now employing 230 people, I’ve read through thousands of CVs but have only interviewed and recruited a small number. This is due to the fact that not many CVs stand out. Attending a Career Workshop can really help you gain valuable skills and boost your chances of landing that job.

As well as this, government tax and employment changes have made it much harder for young adults to secure jobs and as a result, doing so is becoming increasingly competitive.

With this in mind, I’ll be running a complimentary workshop to assist those finishing school, college or university, as well as anyone actively searching for a role.

The workshop will cover:
• Building a positive, resilient attitude
• Communicating with clarity and influence
• Standing out in applications
• What employers are really looking for
• CV content and interview preparation
• Converting fear into confidence

If you have a son, daughter or family member who you believe may benefit, please feel free to share this with them. You’re also very welcome to attend and join us for a coffee.

In the first instance, simply RSVP to events@curchods.com indicating how many people may wish to attend, and our team will confirm the date and venue.

If we can help even a handful of young people move forward with greater confidence, it will be time well spent and an opportunity to put something back into the community
